No matter your circumstances, there are plenty of ways to support and provide aid to everyone in your community fighting for equity in America. Protestors are in need of supplies like food, water, first aid kits, and more. In addition to donating directly to bail funds (the National Bail Fund Network), you can help out your local black-owned businesses and restaurants – Bon Appétit has compiled a great list by city. Summer is approaching, the weather is heating up, the jams are already hot, but at the same time, very chill. It’s the perfect balance. My wife and I are embarking on a journey into the desert of Aqua City Island – Crimson Sands, to be exact – for a little exploration and soul connection. Social distancing, if you will…well, minus my wife. But I hope you all enjoy these jams in my absence!

This week, we give a little extra love to the Nintendos 64 and DS, while giving normal love to the Nintendo Wii. Streets of Rage 4 came out last week, which is the first game I’ve been super excited about playing since Zelda: Breath of the Wild. My wife and I have been beatin’ thugs up and corrupt cops…and I love the fact that you can customize your food. My wife always seems to hit me with her special “on accident” and gulps down food at FULL HEALTH! Good grief…but the soundtrack has some jams that will definitely be making an appearance on the Last Wave, get ready.

Mas jams, mas mahjong and golf, and detective games, a little Wham! inspired tune and of, course, a golem made out of potatoes chilling lakeside. What more can you ask for? Once again, I’ll plug my appearance on the recent Rhythm and Pixels episode, where we played a ton of chill late 80’s/early 90’s situational jams and spitballed hypothetical sitcom scenarios. Love those guys!

Enjoy the show, we’ve got everything from race car driving to golf to kanji training to ultimate brain games. But also, if you’re a big fan of video game music that could double as sitcom opening themes, be sure to check out the next episode of Rhythm and Pixels, where I will be jamming out with Rob and Pernell to some handpicked cheesy goodness. It was a blast to hang out and we came up with some pretty great hypothetical sitcom scenarios.

This is a pretty emotional episode – very serious at times but with an underlying lightheartedness. In fact, if you listen closely, you can hear a wild turkey in the background. Yes, that’s right, we’ve got a ton of wild turkeys on Aqua City Island. Running around, being crazy turkeys. But stay safe out there, stay indoors but also remember it’s not a prison. Talk walks, enjoy nature…as long as there isn’t a bunch of other people enjoying nature in the same spot. And, of course, enjoy the jams!
