KVGM “The Last Wave” (4/26/20)

Do you hear that sound? Can you feel it? The cool ocean breeze in your hair, the salt on your tongue. It’s the smooth crash of the Last Wave on KVGM with your host, Hammock, bringing you thirty minutes of the best video game jams(z) from all your favorite composers and consoles, each and every week from our beachside studio on sunny Aqua City Island. Sit back, relax, and get ready to catch…the Last Wave.

Mas jams, mas mahjong and golf, and detective games, a little Wham! inspired tune and of, course, a golem made out of potatoes chilling lakeside. What more can you ask for? Once again, I’ll plug my appearance on the recent Rhythm and Pixels episode, where we played a ton of chill late 80’s/early 90’s situational jams and spitballed hypothetical sitcom scenarios. Love those guys!

Enjoy the show, we’ve got everything from race car driving to golf to kanji training to ultimate brain games. But also, if you’re a big fan of video game music that could double as sitcom opening themes, be sure to check out the next episode of Rhythm and Pixels, where I will be jamming out with Rob and Pernell to some handpicked cheesy goodness. It was a blast to hang out and we came up with some pretty great hypothetical sitcom scenarios.

This is a pretty emotional episode – very serious at times but with an underlying lightheartedness. In fact, if you listen closely, you can hear a wild turkey in the background. Yes, that’s right, we’ve got a ton of wild turkeys on Aqua City Island. Running around, being crazy turkeys. But stay safe out there, stay indoors but also remember it’s not a prison. Talk walks, enjoy nature…as long as there isn’t a bunch of other people enjoying nature in the same spot. And, of course, enjoy the jams!
