Do you hear that sound? Can you feel it? The cool ocean breeze in your hair, the salt on your tongue. It’s the smooth crash of the Last Wave on KVGM with your host, Hammock, bringing you thirty minutes of the best video game jams(z) from all your favorite composers and consoles, each and every week from our beachside studio in sunny Aqua City. Sit back, relax, and get ready to catch…the Last Wave.

Hi April. Hi again 64DD. Hi Amigos and Amigas. We’re back with more breezy goodness, embarking on mystical journeys to Mermaid Islands and Dolphin Shoals. Once again, the allure of mahjong has taken hold as Hammock gets closer and closer to taking a trip to the local retirement home to learn how to play. It can’t be that hard, right?

It’s warming up out there, the flowers are in bloom – spring time is upon us! And what better way to celebrate than with the Last Wave, bringing you tons of jams devoted to vacation, smooth continents, tennis courts, leisure time, and Yoshi being so dang cute. We’ve got Famicoms and Super Famicoms, Playstations and Playstation Vitas (which, I’m still not convinced actually exist). A little something for everyone.

Lots of PlayStation 2 jams this week but also familiar jaunts to the Super Famicom and PC-98. If the audio is a bit subdued, it’s because my wife was sleeping…next to the studio, of course. There is no actual sleeping space in the KVGM studio. Well, okay, technically, the floor is a potential sleeping space but there is no bed in the KVGM studio. There’s only…a hammock. Wink wink.

Whether you’re sailing across the ocean or experiencing a blind date in a dark dungeon somewhere, the Last Wave has you covered. We confirm that yetis are, in fact, very chill, and that pinball jazz is worth listening to if you can get close enough to the machine. Keep feeding us those requests and we’ll keep playing them on the show!

Lots of unknowns this week but it’s the unknown that makes life interesting. It keeps us on our toes. And sometimes, the unknown creates sweet VGM jams. Takeshi Abo is back, Minesweeper is still boring, and golf games really are livin’ that Weekend at Bernie’s life.

Well, KVGM is under a foot and a half of snow but we’re still managing to find plenty of hot tracks to melt away the gloom. The request line is poppin’, Takeshi Abo is jammin’, Summon Night: Twin Age is resonatin’. Tons of emotion.

Need a soundtrack for that Sunday morning stroll around your local IKEA? The Last Wave is here…for you. This week, we discover Pebble Beach on the 3DO, Yellow Magic Orchestra-influenced tracks, and the power of the Dragon Shadow Spell. What does it do? More importantly, what doesn’t it do? Also, there’s a loose theme of “customization” that threads everything together, be it robots, cars, clothes, etc.

This week, we check in on the rising stock prices for detective, fishing, and golf game genres, as well as show appreciation for the “slow burn” when it comes to delivering a video game jam. If we’ve learned one thing on this journey so far, it’s that you can’t really mess up a beach level theme…or can you, if you’ve never been to a beach??? And what is the deal with the birds at Blooper Bay? Find out…on the Last Wave.

It’s February and half the country is freezing but the Last Wave is here to provide you warmth and comfort. It’s like a sweater with all your favorite colors, knitted with love. This week, we return to the theme of demonology and smooth music, we wonder how could the internet possibly get any better, and we ask the question: what’s your dream monster?
