KVGM “The Last Wave” (7/18/21)

Do you hear that sound? Can you feel it? The cool ocean breeze in your hair, the salt on your tongue. It’s the smooth crash of the Last Wave on KVGM with your host, Hammock, bringing you thirty minutes of the best video game jams(z) from all your favorite composers and consoles, each and every week from our beachside studio in sunny Aqua City Island. Sit back, relax, and get ready to catch…the Last Wave.

It was a busy week for Hammock this week. Not only was he in the studio, bringing you more smooth VGM music, but he also took a trip to the esteemed VGMbassy to hang out with Ed Wilson and listen to great music from an obscure Korean DOS platformer called Eol’s Adventure. Go check that out! But also check this out because this week’s show is no joke. Lots of Nintendo love, a love escalator(?!), love therapy, and even a special request from Arc the Lad II.

It’s the 4th of July in the United States of America, which means, you’re probably chasing each other around the yard with Roman candles, drinking tons of alcoholic beverages, eating BBQ, and being rambunctious in the name of liberty! And when you’re not terrorizing the neighborhood pets with your street fireworks show and blasting Toby Keith with the windows down, why not chill out to some of the smoothest video game music on the planet? All in the name of freedom.

Sexy, beautiful, lucky…why not all three? That’s the theme for this week’s show…and I use the term theme loosely…but when you’ve got the returns of the legendary Katushiro Hayashi AND Manabu Namiki, as well as new composers debuting in OBUXUM and Jonathan Wandag, we’ve got reason to celebrate around here. And if you haven’t subscribed to the Patreon yet, you’re seriously missing out on some HOT JAMS. Spoiler alert: last week’s episode featured a killer soundtrack from the Zero4 Champ series.
